Modelface Comedy Club brings the best local and touring comedians to Asheville! This week we have Denver legend Ben Roy at FBRB!

If you aren't familiar with Ben Roy, he's been taking comedy audiences by storm since 2004, bringing an unparalleled energy and unique voice to the stage. Often compared to Lewis Black or Bill Hicks due to his passionate, ranting approach, Roy has a style that is definitively his own.

Roy cut his comedic teeth in Denver at the world famous Comedy Works. Since then, Ben has been selected to perform at the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival (for New Faces, The Nasty Show, and his own hour show), Just For Laughs Toronto, Just For Laughs Chicago, The New York Comedy Festival, Austin’s South by Southwest festival (where he was an official invitee for both music and comedy in the same year), and many more.

Roy has been featured on HBO's Funny as Hell series; as well as on the Comedy Central shows Adam DeVine's House Party, Corporate, @midnight, This Is Not Happening, and TruTV's Talk Show The Game Show. Ben has also released five stand-up comedy albums and was listed as one of Variety's Top 10 Comics to Watch. In 2023 his first streaming stand up special, 'HYENA', was released on YouTube by 800LB Gorilla Media. That same year NPR listed 'HYENA' as one of their Top Specials Of 2023. From that success, 'HYENA' was licensed by HULU and Disney+ and began streaming on their platforms in July of 2024. Ben will be recording his sixth album at the world famous Comedy Works Downtown in January 2026.

Along with fellow Denver Comedians Adam Cayton-Holland and Andrew Orvedahl (who collectively perform as The Grawlix), Ben also created, wrote, and starred in the original comedy series Those Who Can’t that ran for three seasons on TruTV and HBOMax.

He's also currently the host of two podcasts, 97.9 The Rat Race and Advice Fight.

In addition to stand-up comedy, acting, podcasting, and writing, Roy is a prolific musician and the current lead singer of pop punk outfit SPELLS, signed to indie label Snappy Little Numbers Records, and hardcore/metal band Arson Charge, currently signed to Anxious & Angry Records.

Tom Thakkar is a comedian, podcaster, and writer living in Los Angeles, CA. He started his career in Bloomington, Indiana, where he was born and raised, a half Indian man with a deadbeat Indian father who he never met. Tom moved up the midwest circuit, and was named a New Face by the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal, and quickly moved to New York, and eventually to Los Angeles. He's now been seen on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, CONAN, Comedy Central Presents, This Week at the Comedy Cellar, and much much more. In New York, he became a regular at the world famous Comedy Cellar, and works at almost every club in the city. He can also be heard as a regular on everybody's favorite new podcast "Are You Garbage," as well as on "We Might Be Drunk," "The Honeydew," "Doug Loves Movies," "Never Not Funny," "All Fantasy Everything," and more. Tom also hosted the Comedy Central podcast, "Stand Up with Tom Thakkar," and popular comedy/music podcast "Stand By Your Band," with Tommy McNamara.

On top of stand up and podcasting, Tom acted in the award winning short film "Sofa So Good" and wrote and appeared on the SyFy comedy sketch show, "The Movie Show." Worth is a moderately attractive man (New York 4, Asheville 7), who is a good listener and a great lover. Worth got this gig by moving away to Chicago and he will no doubt con those poor bastards as well.

Whether he’s talking about dating, race, sex, or the strange situations life keeps putting him in, Elliott makes audiences feel like they’re catching up with an old friend. one who occasionally says something wildly inappropriate.
